Oct 16, 2008 one virus needs your attention. It is EGM (Trojan.Clicker.Win32.PopHot.egm). The virus spreads through Internet. The virus continually refreshes the appointed webpage which and clicks ads on those webpage; this malicious behaviour slows down computer running speed and Internet connection speed.

Description:
This is a Trojan. Virus copies itself down to system directory by own and releases varieties virus files. In addition, the virus drops itself into normal system processes, and tries to shut down varieties of popular antivirus software and security tools, whitelist itself of firewall, so it can disable the block of firewall when virus refresh an appointed webpage. The virus uses Browser to refresh webpage and clicks ads on appointed webpage. It slows down computer running speed, and even screen of death; it also makes a waste of Wide-Band traffic.
Anti-virus experts suggest that computer users take the following measures to protect against this virus:
1. Install Rising Anti-virus, personal firewall, update in time, and at least 3 times per day for updating Rising.
2. Use Rising Vulnerability Check, patch your computer system in a timely manner as many viruses spread by taking advantage of the system exploits or vulnerabilities.
3. Do not browse suspicious websites, and suspicious inserter; turn off or delete unnecessary system services.
